Biography

Adopted from Orgetzu, lore by Orgetzu

Lydia wasn't born from an egg like a normal dragon. She wasn't born in a nest. Instead, she was born of metal and electricity. She was born in a laboratory. Where other dragons knew love and comfort, she knew cold and clinical. Those who created her were very careful to keep things professional between them. She didn't know she had the capacity for emotions. She did as she was told.

Until things changed.

She didn't know why they changed.

The scientists were gone one day. One of the screens displayed a message about unsafe levels of radiation. Lydia wasn't quite sure what that meant. She knew many things, but that wasn't one. But she did as she was told. She would wait here for their return.

So she waited.

And waited.

And they didn't come back for her.

Eventually, she went into hibernation mode. Plants overtook the lab. When she eventually awakened some time later, she found gear-like flowers had grown on her body. Stubbornly, they refused to be removed, even when she stood to see what had pulled her out of her hibernation.

A dragon of some sort had restored the power. They were tinkering with the console, talking to themself. Lydia moved, slowly, as her body creaked, and she pushed dirt and vines and years of debris out of her joints. The dragon jumped at the noise, whirling around. They paused when they saw it was only another dragon. They spoke, inquiring as to what she was doing here. Of course, that was an easy question. Lydia belonged here. She had always belonged here. It was all she'd ever known.

But it didn't have to be.

They seemed to feel bad for her. Something rather confusing to Lydia. When they finished their business, they took Lydia with them, out into the harsh sunlight. Out into the world.

It was colorful.

It was bright.

She loved every moment of it.

They showed her things she had never known. They showed her what had lain beyond the cold, mechanical building she had called home for all that time. Never again did she want to return to such a life. She loved the colors, and the fresh open air. When she bid them farewell, she felt happy. Something entirely foreign. But it also felt right. Even when it rained, she embraced it.

And there was more world out there.

She wanted to see all of it.

Everything.
