From a young age, Croix always looked up to Chronos. No one ever really knew just what his role was in the clan, all they ever knew was that it was a position close to the leader. Not only was the older Banescale terrifying and the mere sight of him alone was enough to demand respect, he was gentle and brought hope to those around him. Dragons were often eager to see the dragon walking down the roads between shops and houses with his little Nataliya in tow. Above all else, Chronos was the kind of dragon that Croix aimed to be like. So, when the dragon became of age he begged the older dragon to take him in as an apprentice, to teach him what he knew so that he too, could become a respected member of the clan.

At first Chronos wanted to deny him but saw the potential in the banescale's eyes and so with some reluctance, Croix took his first steps into the Underground. It was then in that moment that Croix understood that there was more to the clan than he had ever really understood...but with the way that Chronos and the clan leader had explained, this was the most important job in the clan, but that speaking of it above ground was forbidden. Croix swore himself to secrecy and trained under Chronos endlessly for months, preparing himself for battle but also for the mental fortitude that came with being a debt collector.

When finally Croix was an adult, he was given his first mission and he was determined to pull it off without a hitch, he wanted to make his mentor proud. He strolled into the clan that owed money, marched right up to the clan's leader and demanded what was due. While at first there was resistance, Croix was quick to squash down any attempt at weaseling out of the debt by trapping the smaller dragon underfoot and again demanding what was owed. Moments later the debt was paid, every coin accounted for. When Croix came back with the bags in tow, smile on his face, Chronos also held a proud smile. So long as he could make his mentor proud and assist the clan in getting what was owed, Croix would forever be happy.
