Biography
Children of dream-walker Invertigo and space-faring Novabloom
these three tiny fae have a special connection to the arcane and great beyond.
Something about this one makes you uneasy. When she moves, it's as if she flickers in and out of existence before your very eyes. It doesn't seem she has control over it just yet.
She's always a bit twitchy and fearful upon first approach. The longer she goes unchecked, the more paranoid she becomes, whispering about things unseen and other worlds. Her sister found her a fat little wavehopper, which Glitch clings to as a means to ground her in this reality. She named her Hopper.
~~~ The deep plum fae had slumped down under a bush with heaving sobs, her wings drooped around her uselessly. Her pinstriped sister, never one to leave one of her siblings behind, was the first to find her. Poking her head gently between the leaves, she cautiously whispered, "Glitch? Is that you under there?"
~~~ "Y-Yeah..." she replied between heavy sniffles, lazily bringing her wings to her sides.
~~~ Whisper smiled softly and flicked her frills, "May I come in?" Glitch nodded slowly.
~~~ The two fae huddled in silence for a few breaths with their tails naturally entwined, a motion the sisters only did with each other- a sign of trust in their sisterly bond. Glitch sighed and began first, "I'm just having a rough day with my stupid... abilities, if you can even call them that..."
~~~ Whisper flicked a frill in frustration, but held her tongue. Glitch's frills drooped suddenly, and tears welled in her eyes again, "But worst of all, I lost Hopper!" She began to sob again, covering her face with one of her wings. Whisper looked shocked, "Lost in general? I'm sure she's around here somewhere-"
~~~ "NO! It was my curse!" She punched her tiny claws into the dirt, "I had her with me, just under my claws, and next thing I knew I felt like my body was being tugged in every direction! It was as if my limbs might fall off! All these crazy, bright colors swirled around me, and then- Poof! -I was here in the camp, but Hopper was gone!" She continued to sob, "I-I can't lose my-my little Hopper! I-I need her!"
~~~ Whisper suddenly jumped to her feet and wrapped arms and wings around her sister, "I'm so sorry, Glitch. We'll find her, I promise!" The two sat quietly together for a bit before Whisper said a gentle goodbye, so she could begin her search.
~~~ Just as the sun began to set, Whisper returned with happy frills, only to find her sister still sulking around the little bush where she'd made her hiding place. Whisper didn't wait for a greeting before trying to nudge her sister into following her, "I have a lead on her location, but I'll need your help!" Glitch looked hopeful, and began to stammer a reply, but Whisper cut her off giving a flick of her frills, "We gotta hurry though, she might be in trouble!" The two quickly took flight into the darkening sky, Whisper's glowing tail leaving a soft trail of light for Glitch to follow.
~~~ Finally, they landed several miles from the encampment in a secluded, lush area, sprinkled with bits of arcane crystals. It was strange to find them dispersed this deep in Fire territory, but it was of no importance to these two. Whisper moved forward in the unfamiliar space, her frills in a low state, a signal to stay quiet. Suddenly, her frills quivered, and she signaled for Glitch to move up next to her. As she did so, she whispered with a smile, "Do you feel that?" Glitch waited patiently, holding her breath, but after a few moments she shook her head. "I'm not surprised," Whisper sighed, "but, the important thing is that Hopper is here. I can feel her."
~~~ Glitch turned to her sister unexpectedly, and flung out her wings, "W-Where? Please, don't joke with me! I need my lil chonker!" Whisper hissed for her to settle down, "You have to be calm here! Spirits can't move like you and me!" Glitch froze in place, "Spirits...? Is she...? She's not-!" Whisper flattened her frills a bit, "She's not dead, but she's stuck on the ethereal plane with them! If you throw your wings around like that, she can't form herself properly. We could lose her!" Glitch was still frozen in place, but took a few breaths to calm down, closing her wings ever-so-slowly, "So what now?"
~~~ Whisper sat down, curling her tail around her feet "I called on the spirits to help me find her today. Normally I help them find things, so they owed me a favor or two. When they told me she was on the ethereal plane, I wasn't sure what to do." She looked deep into Glitch's eyes now, "Glitch, you're a plane-hopper, just like our dad! You're the only one who can get in there, grab her, and bring her back!"
~~~ Glitch shook her head violently, "I don't plane-hop like dad does though! I-I can't control it!"
~~~ A familiar, shy voice came from beside the sisters, "I think you can do it."
~~~ The sisters smiled at their brother, saying his name in unison, "Clover~!" Whisper huffed a bit, "What are you doing, sneaking up on us like that!"
~~~ "You know me, always late to the party..." he held his frills awkwardly, embarrassed, "But I have a lucky hunch, Glitch. I really think you can do it this time!" He sat down next to Whisper, "You've got something important to focus on right? It won't be as random." Glitch looked at her claws, her frills drooping a bit, "But what if I lose her again?" He smiled, frills at full crest-length, "You won't. I promise. You have my word."
~~~ The trio sat in silence until Glitch finally moved away a bit, wings tucked tightly in, she whispered to herself, smiling, "I'll try my best. I can do this...Just focus on her, with those cute lil chubby cheeks..."
~~~ The air around them crackled with arcane energy, reflecting off the scattered crystals, and back to Glitch. She began to violently flicker in and out of the others' vision, like some kind of mirage. Then she was gone.

~~~ With a loud crack of arcane energy, Glitch and Hopper toppled out of the air, and fell to the ground. The pink wavehopper sat up suddenly and began hopping all around the space, leaping excitedly onto Glitch's frontside with happy pirrups and chirps. Glitch cried happily, giving Hopper all the love and attention she could, until they went home.
