Egill

Formerly of the Saurus Clan

Egill is the clan's resident crazy inventor. He spends all his time in the workshop fiddling with bits of metal and stone, trying to come up with new devices to help the clan. Or to entertain himself, if the other dragons are to be believed.

In the rare moments when someone can convince him to leave his inventing, Egill spends his time raising hatchlings with Eydis. She hasn't pestered him to do that for a while though, so he assumes she found someone else to help her. More time for inventing, then.

There is a new dragon in the lair. Actually, there are many new dragons, but mostly Egill does not notice them because they come and go. This one, though seems determined to be noticed. Everywhere he goes, the new dragon appears, chattering on about something or other. Most dragons tend to stop talking at Egill when they realize he is never going to respond to them, but this one is insistent. Perhaps she is unbalanced. It would make sense, considering her strange, stunted form, that she might have some other conditions as well. Egill is not that kind of scientist so he could not say for sure, but he cannot fathom any other reason for her strange behavior. In any case, her perseverance is beginning to get on his nerves. At least he is safe in his workshop. For now.

The sleeping curse caught us unaware. Indeed, we knew nothing about it until over a year later, when some of the eldest dragons began to stir. Most of the clan still sleeps, waiting for a cure.

Those who woke had two choices: stay, attempt to wake the others, and protect the clan - or go, and seek out new lives. The world has gone on without us, and we know our clan will never be the same. All we can do now is pick up the pieces and attempt to forge something good from the ashes.
