orion was once a powerful warrior, trained from a hatchling by his mentor, rhyolite. the two were incredibly close, until orion’s life was cut short during a battle in which he was ambushed by a pack of mirrors, and killed. orion was resurrected by scarab, myrr’s sorceress, as a companion for nightshade- another undead coatl, who had been acting erratically at the time. the order of hades reasoned that nightshade may be acting out due to loneliness- after all, its difficult to understand what a dead dragon may be thinking or feeling, and so set about to find a recently deceased dragon to keep her company (bunch of fools). scarab happened upon orion’s grave, and set about reanimating his body, with high hopes that the two coatls would bond. as it was evident orion has died in battle, kassadin also hoped orion would become another loyal follower like nightshade, using brute force to protect the order. unfortunately, all traces of orion’s past life were erased in the resurrection process- no one is completely sure if he can think/feel, as he cannot speak, but as a whole orion is incredibly placid and gentle. he bonded with scarab almost immediately, imprinting on her closely, and she’s taken on a mother figure role to him, feeling a responsibility to keep him safe in his new life (life?). he also bonded closely with nightshade, and the pair are near inseparable- whatever chaos nightshade is causing, orion can be seen trotting contentedly behind her. his new family are unsure as to why the peaceful, calm orion has such a hatred for kassadin- but whenever he’s nearby, orion will glower at him from a safe distance. |
