Primary mate: Brightjaw
Anyone who has ever spent time around/with Hypos knows that there's something... wrong and off-putting about him.
Since he was a hatchling, he has exuded an air of hate and maliciousness and instead of playing with the rest of the hatchlings his age, he would often seek out small animals to cruelly toy with; which was how he found his first familiar (a Yellow-Throated Sparrowmouse that he couldn't have been bothered back then to give a proper name to). While the young hatchling chased after the fleeing Sparrowmice after he had torn apart their nest in the walls of an abandoned building in town and mercilessly plucked those that he caught bare, the impressionable Sparrowmouse hatchling started to mimic the Skydancer hatchling's cruel behavior. Flattered by this, the young Hypos adopted the Sparrowmouse hatchling.
As Hypos (then named 'Avot') grew, so did his lust for inflicting pain. He graduated from maiming animals to maiming dragon hatchlings. No hatchling under six months old- no matter the gender or species- was safe when Hypos was feeling sadistic. After he accidently went too far one day with his "playing" and killed a Spiral hatchling did his reputation become known to the public. His reputation as a sadistic hatchling-killer spread quickly throughout his native clan before spreading out to the surrounding clans and eventually, throughout the entirety of the Arcanist's domain.
When he was three years old, a new and frightening power emerged after an encounter with a nameless witch. Hypos now had the power to manipulate other dragons to do his bidding; all he had to do was establish eye contact with the target. With this new, dangerous power, he convinced his younger brother Gaara- who had followed him to the lands of the Lightweaver after he was exiled from his birth clan- to go seek out Luminax; which ultimately ended in Gaara's grizzly death. After his first mind-controlling experiment was a success, Avot changed his name to 'Hypos'; a vague play on the word 'Hypnotic'.
Now alone, the newly-christened Hypos found his way to Norwal after following a lone travelling Nocturne and his familiar. Surrounded by new dragons, Hypos put his power to work; resulting in free food and accessories and his most prized possession- a female Nocturne named Brightjaw- who he never lets out of his sight. With no respect for his forced-mate, Hypos took to using his powers to manipulate females (and sometimes males as well) into being romantically interested in him; which has resulted in numerous hatchlings and lavish gifts for him and his familiar.
Everyone else in Norwal has started to become wary of Hypos after a passing Veilspun- Aleece- warned of his true, foul nature. Luckily for Hypos, his victims are left with no memory of what they did while under his spell once they are released. If anything, they are left with a freakishly positive view of their former captor and many of his former 'prisoners' admire him. He is also considered by the more religious residents to be a 'false prophet' or 'demon' when the truth is, he's just a really cruel, sadistic sonuvabeech. The female Dragons take extra care to avoid him... especially if they are brightly colored...
Any Dragon with any sense of self-preservation who finds themselves stuck in a conversation with this male and then offered a gift out of the blue will politely decline; as Hypos has enchanted these 'gifts' to make it so that their wearer loses their individuality and becomes nothing more than a puppet to him. The Dragon species most often targeted to be the receivers of these 'gifts' are Faes. He often uses emerald rings, ornate porcelain jars, golden collars, otherworldly collars, pulsating pendants, softly glowing pendants, glittering blue-silver torcs, brilliant brass torcs, cat-feather loops, glittering sphinx-bands, slinky bands, and tangled bands to trap other Dragons into servitude.
He finds some sort of twisted joy in scaring outsiders; who for some reason, always end up crossing paths with him. Is it by chance or is something more foul at play?

(1) "Last but not least, Hypos' wings are just perfect. They resemble a soft sunset that i just can't stop staring at. I looked at all your dragons, but i just kept coming back to stare at him. I'm also not a huge fan of strong pinks for base colors, but he manages to pull it off really well! The little details from the lace are a really subtle detail that compliments his look perfectly <3" - Hnai

(3) "Hypos, even before the accent and apparel, is a beautiful skydancer. I think that male SDs get too little appreciation on this site, and he is a wonderful example of why! Iridescent magenta blends so well into the shimmer saffron, and while lace isn't normally a gene I like, it looks really cool and interesting on him. On top of that, his accent and single (perfect) piece of apparel work very well with both his look and really cool/spooky lore!" - NightmareGiraffe
