Biography
Sol, the drowned king
Theme song: American Authors — Deep water.
«Probably, I just wasn't a good king.
When I'm thinking about the past and what I've done, it seems so obvious and... sad. I was a leader my people needed, I did what was right for the kingdom, even if it included something terrible. Things... were supposed to be done, and I did what was important.
Of course, not everyone understood that, not everyone was agreed with my decisions. I had many enemies even in my own palace. I surrounded myself with the most loyal and trusted, but it didn't save me.
It should be a diplomatic mission, a pretty quick trip to the nearest island. A small ship with me and my left hand, Alrick, as the only passengers. I should know that it was a trap all along. I should not trust Alrick and his sweet words about importance for the kingdom and people. I knew his family participated in revolution against my father, previous king, but I decided to believe him. I wanted, I really wanted to be a good king. A good leader people could trust.
Well, seems like I failed.
The ship is empty now, all the team left, except me and the captain. He said he will stay here with his ship and... with his king. With me. I think, I just picked wrong people all this time. Maybe I should start with someone like him, who lived under my father's rule and understand what and why we both were doing.
The ship is sinking in the middle of the horrifying storm. I think, there is one of Deepwater Ghosts here, I almost can see its eyes glowing through the dark water. They glow blue. I always loved blue colours.
The waves are becoming higher and the wind sounds like a distant roar. There's no light spot in the sky, it's grey and heavy.
I suppose to be scared, but I'm not. I regret nothing. I can't say I'm ready to die, but I have no fear of death. It's still better than being stabbed in the back in your own bed. It's better than being poisoned on your own dinner. It's better that being killed in front of these who believed you and those who hated you.
Now there are only me, old captain, and the sea.
And may the Sea God judge me.»
