the local thorn hide floron had dragged the limp body of Ripple into the clan's lair, Serif is used as an alarm system and protective guard of the lair and is repaid in food and a warm place to sleep

stumbled onto the clan absolutely wrecked, bloody and missing his eyes
"him collapsing in a heap barely cognizant of the raised voices and commotion that his arrival caused"

the clan is relatively used to outsiders getting gravely injured while trying to move through their portion of the gladeveins, but not usually to this degree of gore. everyone is super protective of Ripple and try to shelter him from the rough ways they have had to adapt

easily spooked and depends on feverfew for pain killers, and has taken solace with Merc's no nonsense personality and competence. Ripple is super cagey about his past and refuses to answer questions, either blatantly redirecting the conversation or zoning out and becoming completely inaccessible
