» methuselah. meaning: bringer of death. high god.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
if not for his sister, methuselah may not have known his true
power. nor his purpose on this earth. when he first awoke, it was to a
cold cavern, the drip of water breaking the silence every so often. heavy
chains held him down, only able to lift his head to peer about the cave.

he remembers the light that seemed to emanate from his sister when he
first saw her, robes shifting and mask firmly in place. her antlers rose from
her head like a great crown, and he felt his heart stop for a second. so
elated was he that someone had finally come to free him, he felt tears drip
from his eyes, liquid gold pooling at his chin, then falling delicately to the
stone floor.

she took long strides over to him, inspecting the chains before snapping them
as if they were mere twigs. he remembers the feeling of freedom, of the true
and utter power he held within himself. he was later informed by his sister, over
the warmth of a fire they had started to heat his once cold body, that he was to
travel with her, taking those who had passed into the afterlife. he felt warm. he
had a purpose, an important one no less. he would work as hard as he could,
help as many dragons as he could. this was the only thing that now mattered to
him, the only thing that had ever mattered.
