Buck

Something of a nomad at heart, Buck wandered Sornieth for years before he came to find a home in the wild west of the Shifting Expanse. The hot, arid climate was so different than anything he’d ever known; burning earth and rippling storm clouds that never shed a drop of moisture upon that bone dry land.

The coarse grit of sand between his claws is familiar to him now, but he will never forget his roots, the peaty lake from which he first rose. Even now, so far from his birthplace, he carries a little bit of his first home with him.

If you’re lucky enough to meet Buck, the first thing you might notice about him is the humidity that seems to follow him: the wet drip of his mane, as if he’d just crawled from the depths of the water; the shroud of flora across his back; the marine life he holds in his throat. No matter how deep into the desert he wanders, these traits are a constant for him. As the land around him aches for water, he carries his own self-contained oasis.

Buck embraces this duality: lightning and water, desert and bog, hot and cool.

After all, who ever defined what a cowbog can and can’t be?
