ＡＵＧＵＳＴＡ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━ sun priestess Originally a spy for Plague sent unto Light, Augusta became so enveloped in her false life that her memory eventually began to rewrite itself. Perhaps some of that had to do with the nature of the very place she had been sent to spy upon. This particular clan of Light scholars, you see, had been studying memory and spells crafted to alter it. They created objects that wormed their ways into your skull, forever entombed within your mind...even though it was physically still right between your claws. Others still were items that one couldn't remember no matter how involved an effort was given. One way or another, through a process none but her colleagues can recall now, her memories of her home flight simply...evaporated. Despite the glint of red in her gaze beneath the veil she wore like her fellow scholars, she became completely and wholly convinced that she was of Light from birth. Her mind had...rewritten itself, from the ground up, to fit this new fantasy of hers, as this...distinguished Light prodigy who was so skilled at magicks that she had mastered the abilities of the Plague flight despite being "born" there, in the land of endless sunlight. She no longer remembered who she used to be, and Augusta went from an alias to her name entirely. |

Naturally, such cases of insanity were ill-fitting for a laboratory space. Her colleagues shuffled her into bookkeeping, hoping to sate her ill mind without having to reveal what horrors had been wrought within the confines of their laboratory or making her a danger to her fellows. What had been an organized collection of scholarly writings became organized by the most obscure, unstable lines of thinking known to any other living dragon. No-one else but Augusta could find their way through the mountains of scrolls and tomes to find the proper articles. Ultimately, they exiled her. Or rather, they had attempted to send her off to work with the Lightweaver. Augusta being Augusta, inevitably got lost on the way, and wound up following a clan of patrolling guards to their home in Earth Flight territory. They bought her stories, hook, line and sinker, until one day, one of them happened to catch a glimpse of her bright red eyes beneath that veil. Something wasn't right. But she isn't the first delusional drake within the lair. Nor would she be the last. |
