Surviving in the Rotrock Rim is no small task. It's a harsh place, located deep within the Scarred Wasteland, that chews up dragons borne into it, resulting in a very low survival rate while the inhabitants of the Rim compete over the scarce food and water supplies. And this miserable place spawned...

...Krieg.


Surviving off rotten food, alien substances, and radioactive liquids have their drawbacks. Once, he had been a somewhat stable dragon that had attempted to start a family with another like-minded dragon of his kind. But one day, Krieg's already stressed mind toppled over the edge and into insanity following a devastating attack on his den while he was off hunting for food by a group of vicious members of the Talonok clan. Upon his return, he found his mate crumpled over her nest, having died in a vain attempt to protect her eggs, three of which were smashed, while the fourth was missing. Furious at the loss he'd suffered, he went on to wreak havoc in the Rim, creating a name for himself as Krieg the Maniac.

Eventually, other dragons would chase him from the Rim, and he would end up wandering the Reedcleft Ascent, his heart heavy with defeat, his body scarred and bloody from his recent battles. Eventually, he would collapse, resigned to the high possibility of death, after taking shelter in a small cave.


To say he was surprised to find himself somewhere else upon waking would be an understatement. He lashed out with confusion and suspicion after seeing another Dragon looming over him, with goggles concealing their eyes. Before he could land a blow, the stranger had slapped him back to the ground using his tail, telling him in no uncertain terms that unnecessary exertion would reopen his wounds, and that they would not patch him up twice. Perplexed, he obeyed the other's instructions to stay still, and was given food and drink while he was recovering. Later he learned that the one who took pity on him was known as 'Junkenstein', an unconventional scholar who bordered on being a mad scientist.


It took more than a few months for his wounds to heal. But once they had, Krieg didn't feel any pressing need to leave. Junkenstein's company, while erratic and confusing at times, was not unpleasant.

In fact; he had grown fond of the other male, and was reluctant to leave.


Fortunately, it seemed that Junkenstein didn't mind that Krieg had chosen to stick around. In fact, after just another month, the coatl would tell the Spiral that he could stay forever, if he liked.


His answer?


A resounding yes, a tackle, and a tussle in the dirt that filled the cave with laughter.
