Starseer's Crown 		There is bitterness in being judged by nothing more than your element. She knows how others see her, how they circle around her, avoiding limbs and wings as if a single touch would turn them to ash. Her own family warns her before she leaves. Hide yourself, they tell her, and do not let them see your eyes. Even the most welcoming of clans look away when she smiles and asks for food and a room for the night. She was nothing more than the red Fire of her eyes.

Whispers lead her to a new clan, one with a King who also hides his eyes. He is Shadow, just as feared as she, but he welcomes her and does not fear her touch. There, no dragons shy away from her. Instead, they flock to her, eager for conversations and companionship. Members of the King's Court circle her, and perhaps a lesser dragon would feel uneasy, but she basks in the attention until she is offered her own position in the Court.

She learns the complexities of the Court. She learns that she can be whoever and whatever she desires. She desires the attention, the adoration, the love that she was denied. Why is her element so feared when she had done no harm to others? Other elements are just as capable of destruction but are loved for their power. She watches as Arcane dragons harness magic that could destroy cities and are praised. That is what she desires.

Students flock to her, begging to learn Arcane magics. She laughs and claims that she specializes in fire magics, but she will teach them whatever she knows. She laughs again when they fail again and again. They believe that she is powerful, and she is. They believe that they are weak, and they are. She creates a new name for herself, but she does not forget herself. She is Fire. She can destroy cities, forests, the world itself. Vesuvia lets the Arcane dragons fawn over her, praise her skill, her ability. When night falls, she she removes the mask that hides her eyes and she remembers that she is Fire.
