Eventually though, they decided it was time for him to leave and find a new clan to become his home, or end up serving a deity. Thankfully, he was approached by a young male fae named Bazba who brought him to the Viridian Isles, not as a means for treasure to eventually get sent to the Shadowbinder, but to live there as a member of the clan.

He talked with his hosts when they asked him what role he'd like to be assigned to, if any. They'd heard of flight representatives before, and when he asked, they gladly assigned him the role for their very first flight rep. He was honored, and glad his decision wasn't questioned, despite the fact that he was from the Tempest Spire and was born in the Shifting Expanse. He just explained that he loved the element and had a good knowledge of the territory. He has an even better knowledge now that he's been there himself, and been able to talk with some water dragons. Later on, he was replaced as the clan's water rep by Perla, but he and Blue Pearl have continued on as water researchers and they assist her in any way they can. Tristern was a bit disappointed by this change, but he continues to love what he does - particularly since flight researching means he gets to spend more time in water territory. Now he continues to study the Sea of a Thousand Currents, taking particular interest in its storms since that's something he knows very well. He even considered becoming a pirate for a while, but eventually decided he wouldn't like something that violent. He does enjoy sailing however, and has studied enough that he has no trouble leading gathering groups safely through the sea.
