- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Let's dance beneath the stars and forget the world." • a b o u t • "Mommy," a baby dragon asks, "when will we eat?" An older Skydancer sighs and hands the baby a piece of frozen cactus. "But mommy, I'm sick of cactus!" She glares at the baby, who recoils and nibbles on the chunk, taking care to not poke herself on any spines. "Livana," the mother states. "Daddy is missing right now, and I need to find him. You follow me, but if I don't wave my wing, then don't come out of hiding." Livana nods intently. Her father has been away for a while, now that she thinks about it. "Okay!" She chirps. Her mother sighs and leaves the hastily-made den. Livana watches her every move, noticing her golden claw wave. Livana skips out of the den and trails her mother, concealed beneath brambles and dead plants. She halts as her mother rounds a corner, waiting for the signal. She's been trained by her parents to hide away from other dragons covered in stars, for no reason in particular. "Let go of me!" Livana hears her mother screech. "I won't go back to that place! NEVER!" Livana can make out two shadowy figures grab at her mother. She isn't sure what she can do. She sits, shrinking into the dried plants. "LET GO!" She hears her mother roar. That was what she sounded like when Livana had run out into a large crowd of dragons, hoping to make new friends. "Linnunatra," one says. He's covered in stunning facet patterns. They mutter in some incoherent language. A female Imperial clears her throat. She's covered in stars. "Letha, traitor of Stargiver." Her mother flinches. "We are arresting you. Do not resist. It will only make it worse." Livana stares in awe as their bodies are like twisting nebulae. She can't take her eyes off them. It's only when her mother screams in agony when Livana notices that her body is glowing. "NO! Don't take me back! Please! I can't bear to see their faces again! They-they'll hurt me..."
