"I think you misunderstand," she said, delicately picking up and examining a fallen leaf. "All those who leave..."

A sharp crunch later, its crushed remains slipped from her claws.

"...Never return."

The smaller Veilspun rolled their eyes. "Can't say I blame them! Who'd come back to this dump!?"

After a brief, dull stare, the other sighed and pinched the bridge of her snout. "Fine, I'll put it in words a hatchling could understand. You leave, you die. Got it?"

They opened their mouth, but before they could snap out a response, she sneered from behind her mane, "oh, but go out there if you want. I'll make sure to ask how it went by seance later."
