Biography
MIDAS
.・.✧.・.
Midas is cursed.
A single touch of his scales against both inorganic and biological material begins to spread a gold alloy across and inside the surface of the object. This "Touch" has an easier time of ravaging biological material; it tends to taper out when in contact with inorganics, and does not spread permanently upon non-biological and non-metallic objects. He came to reside in the Dragonhome Order for a short while before leaving to try and rediscover himself and his purpose.
He returned to the Order shortly before its collapse, taking up the role of banker and working on ways to bypass his Touch for the safety of other dragons in his pastimes. By utilizing a pair of golden chainmail gloves of his own design, Midas is safely able to handle other metallic alloys and substances. The gloves are still unreliable in terms of biological matter, but he is attempting to devise a way to reverse the turning of biological substances to gold via safer matters than 'burning out the Touch', or cauterizing living tissue to stop the spread of the Touch.
Note: Midas' Touch irreversibly damages tissues and living organisms, turning them to gold. He is also able to irreversibly turn other metals into gold.
While irreversible, the spread can be stopped by burning the surrounding tissue to blackness, thus cauterizing the spread; this is not possible for metallic objects.
When coming into contact with stone or other inorganics, his Touch renders them slightly golden or glittering, but this often fades within the hour.
