The mechanic of the commune. Thanks to Hiraeth, they don’t need as many machines as the average mining company, but the few they do have, Melville maintains and upgrades when necessary. She’s an avid recycler and enjoys tinkering with any of their broken down or obsolete machines to see if they can become useful again with new purpose. It’s too easy for Melville to become what she calls “organically short circuited” through caffeine, so she refuses to touch any form of the stuff. The rest of her friends live off coffee, so she makes sure to buy coffee beans for the avid drinkers whenever she travels with Fleece to one of the big cities.
While there are others in their small commune that know how to upkeep the machines, she’s the most experienced, and for this reason (and others), Evan only allows Melville to handle their repairs and upkeep. The two bogsneaks are close.
