Biography
|
FireHeart fodder trainer | the passionate | fire heart |
Friends, etc: Sprail, snapper friend The dodo The fodders |
An older dragon, FireHeart has taken on the responsibility of leveling dragons in her clan. She takes them all in, timid or brash, overconfident or withdrawn. At first, it wasn’t a job that she wanted to do, in fact she’d outright refused when the job had been offered to her. But the head of the clan had been insistent, she was the highest leveled dragon in their clan and she would be the best for the job. It was an honor, she had been reminded, to be training the dragons who would be serving the Windsinger. Still, as she accompanied the young dragons through the various battle areas, it was hard to remember that it was supposed to be an honor. She got to know each and every dragon before they left to serve the Windsinger, or whichever other deity they ended up serving, and that took a toll on her. Consequently, she became gruff, nearly harsh, refusing to get close to the new arrivals because she knew that none of them would last long. Her Hooded Dodo familiar accompanied her everywhere, and was even used in demonstrations of various techniques. She always ensured that the bird would not be hurt, but it had given her a reputation for coldness, despite the fiery heart that the other old dragons knew that she possessed. |
She tended to think of the young dragons as nothing more than fodder, offerings to the deities but of no use beyond that. It helped her to detach, to keep from feeling her heart break each time one of them left. It hurt too much to get attached, to train them and watch them grow and know that, once they reached a certain level, they would be leaving the clan and would never be seen again. There was always at least one from each batch that she would end up attached to despite herself. And when that happened, she would always try to talk them out of leaving to serve the deities. It never worked, however, and each time left her a little more heartbroken than she had been before and resolving once more to never become attached to another fodder dragon. She never could keep that promise, however. She had a good heart, for all that she tried to keep it buried, and was actually very passionate at times. So, among the young dragons, FireHeart has a reputation as heartless and cold, and it is only the older dragons who know of the passion that lurks just below the surface.
