The Cataclysm

______ Born in The Southern Icefield and raised in the harsh and barren tundras, food was already quite scarce to begin with. The day Famine hatched from his egg was one particularly bad year for hunting and scavenging. It was the year his struggling birth-clan almost perished and Famine's family did not survive his first year on earth. Some of their acquaintances realized that throughout the winter this particular hatchling hadn't once touched his food. Yet he still kept growing and never looked hungry. Maybe it was his uncaring, cold gaze at his family's demise or maybe it was his frigid and frozen body, dragons became truly scared of him. They linked him to the catastrophic weather and he was quickly cast out before he fully matured and developed his powers.

______ This monarch certainly let's his presence be know whenever he visits. Born as an ice dragon with unnerving amounts of elemental magic. He's capable of changing the climate on a whim. Making it unfavourable for crops & livestock: with floods and heavy rain, early and harsh frost, and unforgiving northern winds during all seasons. Famine can obliterate clans by taking away their sources of food and the comforts of warmth & security.

______ Famine seems to revel in the chaos and despair that his actions caused. His powers seem to always reach their peak when others are suffering. But nowadays he is forced to use his power for tactical and political reasons only and not without Death's authorization. Famine doesn't dare defy Death's orders and reluctantly had to agree with his terms. Even though he himself can't wreak havoc, he's known to favour subjects who can. Those who have shown powerful, destructive and terrifying magic are instantly given permission to stay, out of spite for Death's warnings and for Famine's own amusement of course.
