Biography
Kip
TideLords Blessed |
During his long life Kip had spent time in many lairs and wandered through many domains. After a long hibernation in a small but comfortable clan based out of the millmeadows in winds domain, the skydancer awoke feeling a tug at his being. He could hear almost hear the sound of waves. The ocean was calling him home. Perhaps he was chasing a dream, or perhaps he was hearing the Tidelord summon him. Regardless, he took flight, saying his brief goodbyes to the few connections he had left before embarking on his journey. Upon his arrival to the Sea of a Thousand Currents, the skys had darkened drastically unleashing torrents of water only the deities could muster. Perhaps he was being too bold trying to conquer the storm with his affinity for water….or perhaps it was because of this that he wrongly assumed he could. But the water soaked his feathers, battering him from what seemed like all sides before driving him deep into the dark choppy waters of the sea. Disoriented, cold, and panicking; Kip couldn’t help but let the currents sweep him forward. Was he going up? Down? He tried to regain his bearings in the complete darkness before he saw a light before him. Blue, vivid and pulling him forward. The Tidelords domain did beckon and when he answered the call drew him in. He lost time. Memories… The next thing he remembered was warm water; the sun bright in the sky and sand between his claws. Was he back on Sornieth? He was sure he’d been brought into the Tidelords Domain, though his memories from the time were foggy at best. Was this really the Beaches of the Sea of a Thousand Currents? He wandered up and down the sandy shores for hours before timidly delving into the warm shallows on the outskirts of the Kelp Beds, nervous that they water would sweep him away again. But the waters were familiar, as were the many denizens of the shallows. Had the Tidelord rejected him? No, he must have been sent back with a purpose. There were rumors out there of dragons returning from their deities domains back to the lands of Sornieth, usually with some purpose. And it seemed indeed that he had been called back from the beyond. He ruminated on this from a while, lazing in the warm sand and catching and eating any sand fleas that dared get too close to him. The sun was nearing the horizon when he heard a voice called to him from the top of the steep ocean bank. Two Feathered heads regarded him from above, one with brown markings and red wings wearing a halo of flame and intricate jewelry and robes, the other with delicate gold markings and purple tapering on her feathers adorned in glorious golden armor. “Are you looking for a party?” One of them asked. Kip blinked, clicking his beak together. “A…Party?” Huh???? Finally flitting down to join him on the beach, the pair went onto introduce themselves as Infinia and Ravna. They also explain that they were venturing to the kelp beds in search of magical shards. Kip had no idea that it was currently the Starfall celebration but suddenly what they were asking made sense. “I’m not much of a warrior.” He admitted sheepishly. “Can you use magic?” “Well…the basics.” Kip knew about as much magic as your average hatchling. “If you can use magic, we could use a healer.” Ravna responded. “We’ll train you!!” Infinia spoke excitedly. “You don’t have to worry about a thing with us on the front line.” “Plus,” Ravna cut back in, “You’re from water right? We could use a guide in the kelp beds. Will you help us?” Kip thought for a moment on their unexpected offer. He had been sent back for a reason…maybe this was his first step. He spent the entirety of the Starfall Celebration with Ravna and Infinia, delving into the Kelp Beds morning until dusk. They trained him patiently but ruthlessly until by the end of the week and before he knew it; he was a mage strong enough to stand with the best. After a warm goodbye and an open invitation to visit their home, he parted ways with the pair. *** He eventually found his purpose in a water lair after their leader Foggy heard his tail. Fascinated by his harrowing journey back from the beyond; Foggy offered Kip a place of honor in their clan. It took less than a day for the skydancer to decide. Yes, this was where he was meant to be. His Home. |
