Nio was a dragon's favorite stuffed toy until the day his owner got sick. The poor little doll was clung to, cried on, bore witness to many treatments, and did its best to provide comfort to his owner. While it had no consciousness at the time, all toys are designed to exude love… especially when needed.

Then came the time, after all the tests and treatments, that it had to be acknowledged; death was on its way. Not ready to leave this life quite yet, the little dragon agreed when its parents wanted to try something radical. Goodbyes were said, just in case the experiment didn’t work. Nio and his owner were put in a small chamber that was then flooded with magic.

When the door was opened and the body of the sick dragon lay still on the floor, everyone thought they had failed. But abruptly, the little stuffed creature began to move. It had worked; the dragon's soul had been transferred into the doll. The malady that had been incurable no longer had a hold on the inanimate vessel the soul now occupied.

Since that time, Nio is like a living doll that helps those who are sick or scared or anxious. He had stayed with his family for a while, until they too passed on. His new body does not age or fall ill, so the little dragon needed a new family to care for.

The denizens of Chaotic Daydreams welcomed the interesting new life form into their midst without hesitation. Nio now has a long, long life ahead of him to do all the things he could not do with his old body. Caring for others is at the top of that list, and the little living doll does it well.
