Icnoyotl is a brightly cheerful dragon, friend to all, enemy to none. His friendly, persistently upbeat demeanor can catch some dragons by surprise, because even to strangers he's never met, he presents an ecstatic welcome more suited to an old friend, and a cheerful “Hi! Call me Nay!” If he sees anyone, stranger or clan member alike, looking upset, his first instinct is to try to cheer them up. It's amazing the lengths he's willing to go out of his way to brighten the day of someone he's only just met. Those who are only used to his bounciness might be surprised at the level of gentle understanding he shows to dragons who are sad and hurting. Nay seems almost impossible levelheaded for a dragon whose emotions are so ebullient. Although he's quick to get happy or excited about something good, he's incredibly slow to anger. His naivete is a part of that. He's so determined to see the good in everyone that he's willing to overlook anything they might do to him, or trust that they had their own reasons and didn't have any intention of hurting him. In fact, he has a habit of offering to help those who cross him or make fun of him, since they must be having a tough time if they're feeling so grumpy, and they probably just need a helping hand. Even known enemies of the clan will receive a paw stretched out in friendship from him. Although his friends might warn him about being so naïve and quick to trust, his unstinting generosity, even to those who are unkind to him, has won more than a few dragons over. Although he's been taken advantage of, he's also managed to turn at least one enemy into a friend. There is one exception to his seemingly unending well of trust and forgiveness, however. He will take any amount of provocation without a word, but should they turn and attack his family and friends, that's the one thing he won't forgive. This sweet and friendly dragon is a formidable foe, under those circumstances, with lightning fast reflexes and a deadly envenomed bite. Those who strike at the ones he cares about are usually left unable to do so a second time. Nay adores shiny things, gold, and jewelry, the more beautiful and luxurious the better. Jewelry and silks are his passion. Even his own feathers and scales shine, and look like they've been dipped in gold, especially when the sun catches them just right. He carefully combs through his collection every day, picking the perfect ensemble. One of his favorite items is something he calls a “wind jewel,” a conch shell cut to reveal the spiraling insides, that he wears almost every day. He's equally delighted to adorn his friends, who often find themselves playing a very luxurious game of dress-up as he drapes them in just the right apparel to show off their best assets. Much as he loves his collection, he still gives pieces of it away to friends, if they've especially admired something, or they're feeling down and he thinks it will cheer them up. ~Story by Mirrorstone |
