”You’ll make a fine meal for my table, mongrel!”

Bloodbane had never stepped outside of the Labyrinth in his uneventful life working as a pollinator—until the fateful day he bumped into Belladonna as she chased a wounded mirror across the Shadow-Nature border.
He’d never realized how hungry for meat (something, anything other than the plant-based imitations he ate every day) he was until he finished off the bloodstained, four-eyed dragon with strike to the neck. Belladonna thanked him and complimented his prowess, but he heard very little as he sunk his teeth further into the lean, scarred flesh. He only came back to his senses after eating almost half of the mirror, and looked at his bloodied face in a nearby pool of water.
He knew he would no longer have a place in his family, he was a changed coatl now.
