The Inquisitive

Ehlen can be classified as an alchemist, but she focuses more on why ingredients react the way they do under certain circumstances, rather than focusing on the outcome of the alchemy like most other dragons do. She loves learning the ins and outs of everything she comes across, be it plants and animals or dragons and buildings. Sometimes, though, she can easily get too absorbed in her wonderings of the things around her, so she goes and helps out her son Barrie with the kitchen. The general simplicity of cooking and the presence of good company can allow her to relax and clear her mind (and mingle with other dragons to boot).

The sensitive gem on her forehead reacts to emotions and magical energies, which can actually help pinpoint exactly what could be happening between a mixture of ingredients. With Ehlen’s constant musings, however, she is often found wandering the clan grounds, and reflexively checking for anomalous magic as she goes. She reports any unusual magic to her friend Tiaka, who shares her interests in the delicate workings of magic and elemental occurrences.
