Memnoch

A reanimated necromancer, ridding the world of his kind.
Memnoch, though ancient has seen little of this world, and even less of the next. He'd died as he'd lived in seclusion, known by few, and knowing fewer. A man thrown into his works, those being life and death, to control and manipulate them how he sees fit. He'd see minor successes in his first 70 years of research, bringing long dead creatures to become somnambulant husks yet the world would stand against his genius. Hunting him like some sort of beast, he'd be delayed time and time again, on the cusp of a breakthrough.

On the night of the day he let his pursuers deal the final blows, his eyes flew open "I am returned to this plane, yet I've never left..." in his death he'd be met with an existential question, does an afterlife exist? Had he denied himself the afterlife by binding himself to his body in an attempt to cheat death? He hadn't seen the fiery pits of some under-dimension, nor pearly gates befitting paradise, (though he hadn't expected to) his soul had merely been in some imperceivable state before he awoke, alive once more. Fearing what he had done to himself and for once, questioning his life and death's work, he set out for new purpose.



Hundreds of years into his undead search, he'd stumble upon a decrepit kingdom in its last days, ruled by a King Lei II, where he found purpose and home. Pledging himself to a people for the first time since his death, he would loyally serve Lei throughout his rule and later his son, Kemura,
