Shatterblast

"To know and not act is to hold a tool in your hand as it rusts."

Shatterblast and his mate, Saberwing, are the head Keepers of the Grand Library. Shatterblast is naturally curious, and has been obsessed with learning since he was a small hatchling. His greatest strong suit is applying the knowledge he unearths, making him resourceful, cunning, and perceptive. The only thing he loves more than his studies, is Saberwing. It was he who introduced her to the world of history and literature, and the two have bonded greatly over this shared love of theirs. Unlike his mate, Shatterblast prefers writing to reading and studying, and often spends his time filling the shelves rather than sorting through them…though he struggles to find them again after Saberwing shuffles them around to her desired location. He never did have such a good memory as hers.

His mate might be obsessed with knowledge, but Shatterblast cares more for wisdom and applying this knowledge in clever and unconventional ways. In fact, if it weren't for his ingeuity, the library might never have become so efficient in its practices. It was his idea to equip the shelves of the library with perches and ledges fit for effortless travel throughout the facility. Dragons could climb and walk across the various pathways in a way that was so efficient, one could access almost the entire library without flying. This way, the careless wing flaps of less experienced flyers wouldn't send papers and parcels soaring and swirling about the library, (not again anyways…) and the elderly could obtain all the knowledge and wisdom they desired with ease. To this day, he continues to consult with the clan architects to better improve the efficiency of the library's design.
