 Zerg is a mage who specializes in shadow magic. He's not a master at it though, as he practices using at the borders of the flights Wind and Water, where the bayous and swamps are, as not to disturb anyone in the town.
.
 One of his inspirations is Baldwin, and he takes the adage "science waits for no one (in this case, magic)" seriously. If he doesn't have anyone to test a status-effect spell on, then he'll test it on himself to truly tell what it does. He's gained extra permanent appendages because of this, such as the bulb on his head and the orange fins, though he doesn't seem to mind them. If anything, the fins have helped him steer better and swim faster underwater.

 Other than that, he is a chill, talkative guy obsessed with shadow magic. His friends have called him weird because of that, though.
