Biography
R E G G I E
Lucky | Perpetually Tired | Petty
Reggie is chronically tired- always has been, too, having worn an expression reminiscing the world is too troublesome for him since first hatching. He'd beaten the odds by being born an Imperial in the first place, was hailed as a fortunate dragon, and Reggie wasn't even remotely interested in entertaining the idea. He was far more interested in watching the birds, the sea- anything, really, if it got him away from the heckling of everyone else.
The firstborn of his parents, unlikely as rain on a sunny day. All Reggie had to say about it was a carefully constructed, very inappropriate string of curses that had his mother tugging him away by his ear. He did not wish to be a prophesied son. None of it sounded even slightly intriguing or like him, only grinding his nerves further and further, and he spent his day looking at all the creatures unburdened by any purpose beyond existence. Why, he wondered, could he not have been one of them? A plain, regular dragon that didn't have other's constantly asking if he could predict next weeks lottery numbers?
Worst of all, it weren't all wrong. Reggie is uncannily lucky. Nigh on every bet he made, he won. When he dropped something, it never shattered, it never broke- his sandwich always landed spread side up.
But he did not want the life of a prophecy. Reggie wishes for days of watching the birds and digging his claws into the sand, free from the hassle of eyes following his every move, and he knows he won't get it without leaving his birthclan. They can't forget who he is, not really, and a life lived halfheartedly is no life at all. And Reggie knows he wants more. Now, if only he could find a place that'd let him be, well, nobody.
