Biography
Pitch

Backstory
Having originated from the Snowsquall Tundra, Pitch was originally named Sussex as his parents and siblings were both members of a powerful yet secretive cult known as the Shadewalkers. The group highly worshiped a false god known as Serith, the Dark One, and made his name start with an S to honor them. And not only that, they also used dark magic on him when he was an egg, in that way giving him Serith's 'blessing,' and was supposed to gift him powerful abilities as an adult.
However, when he started to grow up among the cult, those abilities never came, and more or less he was pretty much any normal dragon despite the blessing given to him. And due to this, as you might expect, he was very much looked down upon by the other members and even those of his own family. However, they continued to let him stay for the time being, continuing to have him worship Serith with the rest of them, and from time to time Sussex started to have his doubts.. Was what they were believing in true? Was what they were doing the right thing? Was any of this good for Sornieth? He tried his best to keep such things out of his head, but it was hard. Until finally, one day, he'd had enough. Enough of being looked down upon by everyone else. Enough of never having any magic. Enough of the false god. Enough of The Shadewalkers.
And so, in the middle of the night, he made his leave. The young Pearlcatcher flew over the ocean that separated the Southern Icefield from the other regions, always having been curious about what was over there, until he finally reached the Windswept Plateau. Of course, the frigid snow and tall pine trees of his home region being the only thing he knew all his life, this strange place that was super hot and had this weird green stuff on the ground was very weird to suddenly be in indeed. However, he tried his best to live on his own, making a temporary camp in the Zephyr Steppes as it was the most peaceful place out there, every other subregion having wind strong enough to knock him off his feet. And though he finally felt safe for once, far away from the Shadewalkers, he was pretty much alone.
However.. that loneliness didn't last long, and one day a strange, metal dragon suddenly showed up at the entrance to his little hole.
"Wh-Who are you?" Sussex asked when he noticed her, startled by the newcomer. She was another Pearlcatcher with striking blue eyes, and though for a moment it'd be easy to think such a thing were real, it was clear she was simply that of a welded creation. And yet.. she seemed alive. At least to Sussex she did. However, she didn't answer her question. He hesitantly moved closer.
"Are you not able to speak? Go on, tell me!" The other dragon backed away a little, seeming scared, and finally, after a few moments, opened her mouth to speak.
"I.. not know who I am. Come from the Cloudsong."
Sussex frowned, confused. How could she not know who she is? Wasn't that common knowledge for any dragon? Well, at least he knew where she was from, at least. Even if he didn't ask that question. What was.. the Cloudsong?
"Well, my name is.." He paused, about to say Sussex, when suddenly he thought of an idea. What if he thought of something else? Something that didn't start with an S? The memory of flying over the ocean through the middle of the night, the pitch black sky above his head and the dark sea below, flashed in his mind, and eventually he finished..
"Pitch. My name's Pitch. Are you.. sure you don't have a name?" She had to at least have something she knew herself by! Even if she was some.. weird metal thing.
And finally, after a slight pause, she gave him something. "Well, long time ago.. think used to go by Calanthia. Maybe that was name.." Sussex, or now.. Pitch, rather, let out a long sigh.
"Alright, I'll just call you Calanthia, then." He told her, pausing for a moment again. Now that he thought about it, she looked rather lonely. And scared. It reminded him a little of himself when he first came here, not knowing where he was or if he'd ever return home again. And that was when he got an idea..
"Hey, um.. Do you want to like, live with me? In this den?" Calanthia's fur-tipped tail shot up as he suggested that, seeming interested in his suggestion.
"Yes! Calanthia would love stay with Pitch!" And without hesitation, she pushed past him inside, excitedly looking around his makeshift den. Guess I'll have to live with this weird metal Pearlcatcher now.. Pitch thought, slowly following her. Maybe it wouldn't be.. all that bad. At least he'll have someone to live with. Someone who didn't expect to much of them, or was crazy into some weird religion. Someone.. normal. Albeit metal and a little weird.. But hey! It was someone at least. (TO BE CONTINUED)
