Jade and RiverWing... his parents' perfect sons.
Arctic was sick of it. He was going to take matters into his own claws. Jade was the strongest brother. Working quietly in the vault as the clans main locksmith and taking up jobs here and there for clanmates. If Arctic was honest with himself, Jade was never the problem. In fact, he had always been kind to the young mirror. RiverWing, on the other hand, had to go. As the youngest brother, Charger and FeverDream babied him constantly and would do anything for their precious little devil. He was smart and clever. He knew how to fight. He held a wonderful demeanor in public. He was everything Arctic could never be- and he knew that. Arctic could never fight like a pearlcatcher. He would never compete with his brother's stamina or veil his reactions in public as RiverWing did. The more he thought about it, the more Arctic's claws itched. He was going to kill his brother.

this?"
Watching the blood pool in his brothers scales
and hearing his wounded cries drove Arctic into a fit of hungry rage. Now he had the power. The pearlcatcher lay weakly under Arctic's talons for the first time ever. One twist and all his troubles could be over! It felt so freeing but he wanted to live in this moment forever. His anger at the past and joy for the future danced together like twin flames as he leaned down to wisper in his brother's ear.
"Because you made me nothing."
RiverWing's eyes widened in fear. A sibling
squabble was one thing, but he was truly about to die and he could see in Arctic's eyes that he meant every word he said. Out of desparation, the pearlcatcher managed to get one of his hind legs free and kicked out at Arctic's stomach. The mirror grunted and doubled over, not expecting retaliation and RiverWing clawed for his opportunity to break free as his talons slipped in the churned up blood and mud. He twisted violently until he was upright and managed the best run he could into the woods where he might have a chance.
Arctic cursed quietly to himself as he scrambled
up and peered into the darkness. The only sign of the fight were the scarlet puddles soaking the mud around his talons and the quivering foliage tattling as to where his brother had fled. Well hopefully he won't be back. The thought of his brother bleeding alone in the woods was almost as satisfactory as watching the light drain from RiverWing's eyes firsthand could have been. He shook himself off and slowly turned his back to the darkness and headed home.
