Biography
WINTER, the wanderer |
Uh-oh, looks like this frosty bab wandered a little too far from her home lair (kawoofy, #493939), and now she's off to see the world! If you ever feel the urge to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off to See the World' thread, here. If you don't want another traveler in return, you can also drop her off at the Traveling Dragon Rest Hub! |
Winter wandered about in the Tangled Wood, trying to find a village or marketplace. It seemed like days she looked around with only the softly glowing mushrooms for company. One night, as it was growing dark, a small creature bumped into her, making her jump - it was quite spooky in the gloom! - only to discover a Sweetpuff. "You're far from home, aren't you, little one?" she asked it.
She named it Mui, and fortified by its company, was able to find her way out of the Tangled Wood at last. She hoped their next stop would be more peaceful and less creepy!
She was delighted to spend some time in the Windswept Plateau, regaining a sense of peace and joy. She spent some time at the rest hub before traveling on to a sister inn, the Sunbeam Lanternhouse, where she happily mingled with residents and travelers alike.
There she met Rafiq, a member of The Herd. She thought it must be quite comforting to always have a family, someone to turn to for support. (Mui was sweet, but it wasn't the same.)
She asked him to travel with her, but he had no interest in seeing the rest of Sornieth. Heartbroken, she withdrew from the day-to-day goings-on in the clan, keeping to her room, only emerging for meals. She wasn't ready to move on by herself, though seeing Rafiq about was painful.
One day, she approached by a graceful Skydancer: Perla thought he was quite beautiful. Shy of his words, but unwilling to continue in her solitary state, she spent some time in his company.
Like herself, he enjoyed the comforting things in life. With his gentle admiration, Winter could feel her heart beginning to thaw once more. She finally had the courage to continue her travels.
...imagine her surprise when the skydancer had, in fact, followed her all the way to her next stop at Clan Mavenlark. And take that to the nth degree when they produced an egg together - only for him to again leave, with some promise of seeing her again in "the most unlikely of places". Huh? Was he trying to kill her heart? Winter fell into misery all over again, and was quick to give up her child to Mavenlark, who was apparently more than used to this particular occurrence. She wondered heartbreakingly if the skydancer did this particular schtick with all sorts of dragons...
