Aluella

A Drylands Drifter is a creature of Wind, though influenced by Fire.

Aluella was born in a nest of Fire, and her eyes are Fire's. At best, she is a hanger-on, who might be suitable to provide eggs to some proper Drifter. She'll never be accepted by her mother's people. Not really.

Well. She has the temper of her mother and great grandmother's breed, and perhaps even more of it. She set out to make her own way, though it ripped at her heart -- surely it would rip at theirs as well. How dare her parents nest anywhere that their children would be rejected from true belonging! It is unbearable. It is not to be tolerated.

It is, perhaps, enough to make a young Skydancer look at the promises of an entirely different kind of belonging, and consider.

The first of her defiances against her lot: she will not stand back and cast spells, as the other Skydancers so often do, even in this lair. She is not a healer. She wants to feel what she rends, feel it beneath her clever claws, kick out with her hind legs that grow more powerful, beat at the enemy with her wings. Yes, she remembers how to shape energies into a stunning blow of magic -- but more, she knows how to bite and claw.
