Maelogan

Maelogan is a curious creature, the result of magically fusing a soul with fabric and twine. The idea behind his creation was to have a dragon that wouldn't suffer from decay. However those behind his inception failed to consider the fact that decay can befall that which doesn't have flesh so the project became abandoned and so did Maelogan. Left to wander on his own he sought to be accepted by others but found his rather clumsy way of life didn't really meld with their own. Seeing as he is still a nocturne he copies people as anyone would expect from the species, only they tend to find it much creepier coming from a creature that can barely hold it's head upright sometimes. Through his travels Maelogan stumbled across Didier on one of his information trips and the other nocturne become enthralled with him. Insisting he come back to the lair knowing they would happily take him in. While sceptical at first Maelogan agreed.

Unsurprisingly Maelogan was met with open arms and was even able to find dragons he related to in the shape of Sylph, a wind spirit that takes the form of a dragon. Wherein he also met Trinket, a dragon who was apprenticing under the clans tailor Stinmet but had... Other ideas on what to create. As Maelogana is basically very sophisticated toy he would be unable to bare his own children. However, having something to put life into is sort of like having children right? Every child Maelogan has had is the result of a carefully crafted toy by Trinket given life by a special culmination of magic from Maelogan and his partner of choice. Several females were willing to take up the charge, even Sylph, as the nature of making this child wasn't a typical one.

The way in which Maelogan is able to create life is, well, strange. Plague not typically being known as an element of life. It is the result of a lot of magic, which is why a partner is often needed to maintain the level that is needed for it to work. Thankfully the element doesn't matter. He basically creates a void, an essence of pure nothing, a tiny black hole. Using his plague magic he is able to speed up the process to make the black hole die, the resulting energy causes the creation of what might be considered to be a small universe. This process then fills the chosen vessel with so much raw power and energy that it becomes taken over by it, creating a form of life. It is. Unconventional to say the least in many ways, but also incredibly interesting at the same time. Maelogan is now a father to more children than he could have ever dreamed of, and he is a pretty great dad to them all. Even if they're all a tad strange. The children, by either the nature of their creation or simply being 'born' on the land as any other dragon child, their element is always that of arcane. Each seems to have their own... Unique quirks. Didier speculates that each child takes on characteristics of the universe that gives it life. Dragons told of how his children come into being are left to wonder, are they nestled within the heart of a giant magically made creature too?
