Buttercup isn't very outspoken, she prefers to only interact with her clan and tends to avoid other clans. Buttercup was born in a Water clan, but she was abandoned in the lands of the Plaguebringer when a spiteful member of her parents clan crushed Buttercup's Pearl. Disgraced, they didn't want a pearless Pearlcatcher as their daughter. So they abandoned the dragonet to die in the unnerving territory. Thankfully, she was discovered by two members of a Plague Clan, the Cascade Clan. The dragons who found her were two Wildclaws, a guard and an inventor who took her in as their own.
As she grew up, she grew to love her accepting new clanmates and parents.
When she was almost an adolescent, her adoptive father presented her with a gift, a mechanical pearl. On it are inscriptions to remind her of how special she is, the metal pearl is hollow inside so she can store things that are special to her in it. But also so that it's light enough for her to carry around.
It's been painted to look as close to a real pearl as possible.

Buttercup has a fear of being abandoned and hates being alone, if left completely alone she's prone to breaking down.
Buttercup loves to hang out with her Aunt and Uncle, almost as much as she loves hanging out with her parents. Much like her adoptive father, she loves to create. She can sometimes be found helping her father with his creations, though she prefers painting them and adding that creative beautiful flare. She will also go out with Granite to collect research for her father, collecting research on animals and their anatomy.
She makes extra money by working in the clan's local Inn, she makes and serves tea for the guests.
