______ Jagai was born in the Starwood Strand to a family of outcasts. His parents expected him to bring honor back to the family, and pressured him to go work for the Arcanist in The Observatory. They signed him up for a "tour" and flew him all the way there, whispering fake promises of love in his ears. Jagai, once inside the tower, was ushered to a large library. At first he was amazed at the huge assortment of books, but as he saw the librarian his amazement turned to horror. As the librarian yawned Jagai could see that he had no tongue! His guide explained that the dragons that worked here had their tongues torn out in order to prevent them from spreading the secret knowledge kept at The Observatory. Her tongue had not been torn out as she was only a guide and didn't have access any other floor of the tower. "Didn't your parents tell you this?" She asked. "No, they told me I was here for a tour.." "We don't HAVE tours.. Come, I'll help you escape."

______ Jagai was told to fly through the Scarred Wasteland towards the Windswept Plateau, where he would be safe. On the way he met Talin, Shimrio, and Evelyn, and saved his future mate Nayra from a life of being tested on by Plague dragons. Later spending the rest of his childhood at the Windswept Plateau and founding Kite Cliff as an adult.
