In a corner of the clan's land, a dozen dens stand on hills, the land around them warped and blessed by the flight that the ambassador dragon calls home. The dappled sunlight here has melted away a thin layer of ice, clearing enough room for some cold-hardy plants to sprout, their bright, near yellow leaves soaking up as much light as possible. Mirror-like pieces of glass and steel hang from white marble pillars, magnifying and concentrating the sun onto the plants. An off-white, sun-soaked Pearlcatcher lays on a white and gold rug, head held high into the sun's brilliant light. His pearl curled in his claws reflecting the sun and scattering it's light into little round balls that seem to float aimlessly around him. "Why hello there, little one." His deep, smooth voice calls out softly as he turns to look at you, just a hatchling from the Clan. "Have you come for another story?" You clap your little claws together and eagerly prance over with a chirp, flopping down beside Apollo's bulk, letting his wing bend around you to put you in shadow. "Let's see...how about the story of the Sundial Terrace? When dragon-kind first found the ancient structure, and learned about how the sun casts the dial's shadow over the markings." His story is one you've heard before, but it's a good one. You especially love the part where the Lightweaver blessed the surrounding land with everlasting sunshine. "Wow Uncle 'Pollo....I can't wait to visit the Sundiel Tearace." You chirp, wiggling with excitement. Apollo chuckles, nodding sagely. "Mmm. I'm sure the Lightweaver, in her infinite glory will be happy to shine upon you one day, little one. Perhaps you'll find your home in a Clan among the Light Flight." He soothes as your eyelids grow heavy. |
