Ikaroa
OC from - A World of their Own (My own story) "I am the result of sky and sea. Coming together in perfect harmony...a marriage that beckons adventurers to the ever-lasting divide over the horizon." Ikaroa was conveniently found on the sandy shores of the Tsunami Flats along with Angel, scouting the dunes for washed up treasures and potential hazards to the hulls of any sea-bound ships coming to dock. The pair welcomed the crew with a friendly enough attitude, but it was quick to see how polar opposite the pearlcatcher's calm, collected behavior was as opposed to the gaoler's more sporadic, off the wall nature. They complimented each other perfectly!...But of course that wasn't the only reason Voleta took interest in the pair to begin with. Ikaroa herself is more of a handful than she seems, claiming she is the child of the goddess Mirua, ruler of the blanketed night sky, constellations and constant guidance, as well as to the serpent god Balhon, ruler of the ocean's coral reefs, underwater vents and good luck. If this was true, she herself would be a god in her own right...which of course she claimed as well. She seems to stake claim only to freshwater reservoirs...which actually explains the practically crystal blue water stored in her transparent stomach pretty well, but she also says she guides ships on stormy nights to land by plucking a star straight from the sky and using it as some form of light source, which afterwards she keeps on her in the form of her luminous pearl. Now...all of this on it's own would probably only sound like another tall tale, but paired with Angel's story of them meeting make it all sound like more than coincidence. Even better than that: the potential daughter of unknown GODS sticking with the Pathfinder could lead them to ruins and riches that dragonkind could only DREAM of! So for the time being the pair travel with the crew, with the acceptation of disappearing back to the Tsunami Flats and even the rumored Great Divide every now and then. A little time to themselves is always nice, in both of their opinions. |
