Biography

deity of time and space
they/them

Lanace existed before Sornieth had been created. The entity had the form of pure energy. They sparkled as if the galaxy itself lived within them. The deity traveled through universes to keep them separated as well as kept their timelines intact. Many inhabitants of the many universes titled them as the deity of time and space. Lanace did not need such titles to describe their power. They were a powerful being capable of merging universes together. The energy that shined as bright as a galaxy did not need others to tell them of their powers. As life began to blossom within their domains, Lanace fell into a slumber as their powers were not needed for a long, long time.

Pure black eyes snapped open as the entity let out a hideous screech as they rose from their place of rest. The being took the form of a large creature with wings. Lanace roared as they flew through the space between universes trying to locate the disturbance that had awoken them. The entity began to slow their flying as they felt the energy leaking from one universe. The energy had been building for some time. It pounded against the barrier that held the universe within its own domain. Lanace’s wings flapped against the wind that was created from the energy that was building. The entity hissed as a tear began to form. Their form shifted as she slipped through the tear.

The being burst through the other side with a deafening roar as their fluid form took solid shape. Lanace had become a dragon to fit within the realm of Sornieth. The Imperial took flight as soon as their shape finished forming. They leapt into the air before beginning to fly around the tear to stitch it. The energy pulsating throughout the land of Sornieth was making the stitching of the tear difficult for the dragon. Dragons stopped their lives to watch the star-like Imperial continue to spin her own, unique magic. Many chirped amongst themselves about the event that was taking place in front of their eyes. Lanace did not hear them (or chose to ignore them) as they tried to stitch the tear closed. The entity roared in anguish as the energy from the world burst at its own seams. The magical energy slammed into Lanace and the tear. The Imperial flew through the air before slamming into a mountain side. Rocks fell on top of them. Dragons gasped in horror as they saw the rocks crumble on the dragon.

The ground began to shake and break open as the elemental energy grew unstable and unpredictable. Many dragons took to the skies to keep from falling into the earth; however, the sky was unsafe as well. The wind went in every direction, and the weather would change every ten seconds. A purple and blue mist had trailed from the tear within the middle of the Hollow. The tear began to widen and crackle with its own energy source. It intermingled with the elemental energy of Sornieth, and it continued to make the territory of the Hollow unstable and dangerous. Dragons watched as the mountains began to crumble into their den. Many tried to stop the rockslides; however, their magic began to fizzle.

“What do we do?” “This is madness!” “Our homes …” were the words that echoed the most throughout the dragon population of the Hollow.

A soft mewl was heard from Lanace as they began to stir from their unconsciousness. The elemental energy blast had disconnected their own magic from them. Black eyes snapped open as they began to glow a dark blue. The rocks shifted and slid off their form as the Imperial rose into the air. The dragons turned toward them as they sensed the dragon’s aura. A trill and mewl escaped their closed maw before a dark blue mist began to seep from it. A breath of pure energy left their maw as it snapped open. The beam of mist hit the center of the tear. It began to frizzle and fluctuate. Lanace flew closer to the tear as the mist continued to flow from her jaws. A ripple of blue and purple energy flew over the dragon as the pulsation around the tear softened. After a moment, it had quit. The entity’s jaws closed before they began to circle the tear once again. It had grown larger from when it had first appeared. Lanace flipped through the sky as they moved away from the tear for a moment. They flew high before letting out a thundering roar. Energy of different colors began to flow toward the area. Dragons felt the energy as it rippled across their scales.

Elemental energy.

It swirled for a moment before taking the form of small dragons. They trilled and huffed before they began to stabilize the elemental magic that was still rocking through the Hollow. The dragons looked on in amazement. They had never seen such a thing even with their own deities. Many began to land once they were sure it was safe to do. Lanace had gone back to circling the tear to repair it. The Imperial circled the tear neverending. They not once took a break from it.

Though, life in the Hollow had not returned to normal. Every so often, the portal would allow others to emerge from it. Nobody knew who they were … all they knew was that they would appear as dragons. Occasionally, Lanace would sweep a few of them back into the tear. None of the inhabitants knew why the Imperial would do such a thing. Few assumed they meant bad news to them. Others figured that the dragon was trying to keep as much as they could in the tear. Either way, life resumed in the Hollow. It did not stop due to a tear within the center of it. The citizens of the den normalized all the events that occurred with the tear. It’s all they could do to keep a semi-normal life.
