F I G H T E R
CLAN PROTECTOR

“THANKS FOR THE COFFEE.”

Origins - Fighter—or, as she was once named, Cloudsoar—originated from the Windswept Plateau. As a hatchling, she was quite the rambunctious creature, always stronger and bolder than her friends and clanmates. However, her gembond weighed her down in flying races, and no matter how hard she tried, she would never finish first in a wind contest.

Because of this handicap, Cloudsoar was often rejected by other dragons, more so the older she grew. She tried to make up for it in other ways: she learned to fight other dragons with claw and spear, and became the most physically capable dragon in her clan, although the others never truly accepted her. But Cloudsoar was glad she could be of assistance, as she could hunt and fish to provide for her clan. However, tragedy struck one day: several hatchlings of Cloudsoar’s clan was caught between two warring flights. When Cloudsoar heard the news, she made all haste toward the battlefield with her primitive hunting spear, but it was too late: the hatchlings were dead, and Cloudsoar could not save them.

Cloudsoar took full responsibility for her actions, despite her being told there was nothing she could’ve done. She had failed to protect even the youngest of her clan; thus, she was unworthy of living with them. Despite protests from the clan’s elders, she departed in self-imposed exile.

Cloudsoar wandered for a long time, with nothing but the wind on her back and the pain of her memories. She saw many things over her travels, but nothing beckoned at her; she only wished to wander the continent, alone, where she couldn’t fail anyone else again.

One day, the lone wanderer was soaring through the Highland Scrub when turbulent gales forced her to land. Cloudsoar, believing the Windsinger himself had cursed her to live on the ground for the rest of her life, fell into deep misery. She slipped into the feral state, barely conscious, somehow managing to stay alive in the desert for weeks on end by fishing in oases and stealing (or, as the native Ridgebacks would say, “borrowing”) from the region’s clans. In her feral state, she got into a scuffle with several pirates; she had been caught stealing their fish, prompting them to attack her. She fought back viciously, but being outnumbered, she was defeated and left for dead with grievous wounds.

Somehow, a small group of dragons found her. Taking her back to their clan, they nursed her back to health. Luckily, she had sustained no major injuries; in her newfound state of comfort, she reverted back to her original state.

After profusely thanking the clan, the Ridgeback resolved to pay them back after they had saved her from her darkest hour. She took up a trident and a new name, Fighter, and vowed to protect the clan from the untold dangers of Sornieth.

WIP

Personality - Fighter is a bold, proud, and rambunctious dragon, and others typically regard her as callous and careless, but fun nonetheless. She loves to fight with her favorite trident and to holler at other dragons at the top of her lungs.

Sometimes, though, Fighter can become deeply serious; when she does, she cuts the chatter and gets to work. She spends a lot of time keeping the Prowlers away from Clan Stryker, and is a prodigious fighter. She is entirely fueled by honor, rage, and coffee.

Mate - Let’s hear about your dragons mate! Or maybe their mates? If they have no mate(s) then feel free to brag about their friends! Or perhaps complain about their enemies?

Clan Role - What does your dragon do for a living? Are they a hoarder? A merchant? A magician maybe!
