History A young Obelisk, frozen in a cast of basalt overrun with mollusks, washed up on the shores of the Red Moon Sea. The tides raged and frothed as the sun glared a furious crimson in the cloudless skies. The distant cries and screams of fighting dragons echoed off in the distance. Shaking from his earthly shell, the Obelisk male crawled out of the roaring surf. Sand parted beneath his claws. The winds howled in his ears. He cowered by pulling his tail tight to his belly. His white mane and tail plume trailed behind him, damp from the salty waters. He didn't know the words but his intent was clear when he whimpered out a cry for comfort. Nothing responded, at least not immediately. The howls of war still echoed far beyond the bounds of the Obelisk's developing senses. A surge in the Red Moon Sea heralded the arrival of a titanic serpent, scales as dark as midnight shimmered as water droplets fell like jewels. Violet eyes glimmered with Arcane might. "It... actually worked...!" hissed the great serpent. Uncaring of her species, the Obelisk knew this Titanic Serpent as familiar and comfortable. He crawled up to her hide and nestled under a sweeping array of dark fins. "I thought him mad for suggesting it," hissed the great serpent, "and yet here you stand, our little creation. The collision of Titan Caelestis power at its finest. Are you proud of us, Mother? We follow in your pawsteps, creating life with our domains and stepping above the domain of mortals." A great thundering rumble emanated from the fiery sun above, masculine in tone but nonetheless an equal comfort for the young Obelisk. "I told you so, sister of mine. The sun's majestic radiance in combination with the sea's ancient dance have created a wondrous little cloud. A Titan Luminare born!" The dark serpent produced a heavy huff. "I just wish it were under better times. Why now? When you are caught in the war?" "I cannot say. Only that my soul told me so. Perhaps this is our power at its height?" The dark serpent hummed. "Perhaps. Don't worry, I shall take him to safety where he can be nurtured. Come, our Little Cloud, this is no place for you." Almost losing his footing when the great dark serpent shifted, he stumbled after her awkwardly slithering mass. He squeaked his protest. He did not want to move. She ignored his protests and instead rumbled over his squeaking. "No, Little Cloud. I'm afraid you're too fragile to remain at the beach. Wouldn't want some beast to snap you up as lunch." The cautionary tone in her voice was enough to give him pause. He followed, at last sensing the ferocity in the distant dragon cries. The young Obelisk whimpered and stumbled forward to try and hide under one of his guardian's sweeping fins. The great dark Serpent rumbled, "I suppose that would be threatening to you too... Wouldn't want any of those fools to get to you either. My idiot siblings waging their turf war. Well, at least the lunatic that helped me create you has the ability to see through the sun's eyes. Hopefully he has the wits to keep himself safe!" "Hey now!" A soft hiss of amusement erupted from the Dark Serpent. She also heard the masculine voice's protest. The great Dark Serpent continued to speak to the little Obelisk male. Her tone was filled with affection as she began to teach him many things. His name was Nimbus'Captum, otherwise Cloud Catcher. He was a Titan Luminare, a creation of the Titan Caelestis, and he would one day serve as a messenger. Like the clouds that herald the summer storms, he would be able to always hear and convey the wills of Divinus'Aurora - the Sun God - and Tenebrae'Abyssus - the Goddess of the Tide.
