bennett once served in his previous clan’s military, as a high ranking commander- though he doesn’t talk about it, so all his friends know is that it didn’t end well. bennett doesn’t work well under pressure, and he suffered a panic attack at a crucial point in a battle for territory, leading to a lapse in decision making, and several dragons killed due to his mistake. bennett was exiled, lucky to escape with his own life, and wandered into darkwood’s territory. luckily, he found his home here, steering far away from the warriors and making his own living as a woodworker. he’s much more at peace now, however that day torments him from time to time, the guilt being a wound that’s never quite healed right.

bennett forged out a nice space for his stall in the glade, selling wood carvings and figurines of the deities, and will occasionally craft arrows and bows, though he’d rather not contribute to making weaponry. he hates feeling pressured, due to his past, and will tell his customers that their orders will essentially be ready when they’re ready, refusing to give a date in case that familiar panic sets in again.

one thing bennett is known for is his straight-talking attitude, bordering on bluntness. though he isn’t rude, bennett simply states the truth, or his own opinion without sugarcoating it. his friends tend to go to him for advice, knowing he’ll get directly to the point- there’s no malice in it, he just doesn’t see the point in lies. bennett has a wide circle of friends, and is a frequent customer at the tavern, enjoying the atmosphere and company of those around him.
