Memento of Sunlake

Somewhere between the Sundial Terrace and the Beacon there exists a large circular lake. From afar it shines like a sun on land when it reflects daylight and thus it was called the Sunlake.

Once upon a time, a duration of two millennia, a clan that called itself after the lake resided here. Why they decided to stay here none knows anymore. And why they disappeared none remembers. Hearsay from olden days mentions beaches painted red and final roars. Somebody, a survivor perhaps, carved the clan insignia into the cliff walls of its northwestern shores. This too has faded, only faint shadows of circles and pointed tips remain.

For now no other clan has taken up residence. And the remains of the old clan slowly slips into meaninglessness. But the subtle magic of the forgotten mausoleum on the bottom of the lake has rooted itself and given birth to a spirit.

This spirit knows nothing of the past, but is, in some ways, a descendant of that lost clan.
