CALYPSO
Seeker in the Swelling Deeps Her eyes are dark and fathomless, as she floats toward you through the briny water, a light-lined shadow drifting in the current. Calypso is ancient, but unbowed by the years, her form still as fluid and graceful as when she swam the deeps of the Tidelord's domain as a hatchling. For centuries, she resided with her clan in the dark waters surrounding the Spiral Keep, listening to the prophecies of her deity. In return, she has been given something of his power; a lingering foresight, with which she can see the shades of dragons move before their flesh does. A near-silent voice in the back of her head sings prophecies of apocalypse, of old gods and distant realms. Her move to the far north was as confusing to her as it was to the warrior Paelice, who she met on the rocky coasts of the southern continent. She has been willing to assist him in developing his connection with the waters, and met briefly with his clan-leader to assure her that no harm was meant. The ocean here is different in some subtle way from the inland sea she came of age in. For some reason, although she is no stranger to deep waters, the thought of exploring further downward makes her... curiously expectant, somehow. The voice has been louder of late, and there are tremors where the shelf meets the sea floor. |

Level 25 Affinity Manifestation: Murmurs of the Abyss
This ability is not one Calypso has used often, as she is worried by its power. When she is in combat, any dragon near her in contact with water, be it a stream or a bucket splashed in the face, will hallucinate that they are trapped underwater, sinking and unable to move, with a multitude of voices crying out around them. It takes great strength of will to break free of this vision, and those that do still experience tremors of the limbs, and whispering noises that take weeks to go away entirely. If her power is used on dragons in larger bodies of water, they will not be able to break free from the vision unless they are of Water heritage, and they will sink toward the bottom much faster than would be expected of limply drifting bodies.
