Biography
Some dragons in the clan are speculating which dragon is in the most pain at any time. A contender of that list many times is Morgause. The path she had made to sanity before was crumbled by Bloodsurge´s usurping. Her body tortured of the neglect, she is too crippled to resist the interference of the scientists of the Leachate. For better or for worse, her horrid modifications are always adjusted.
With no end in sight of her suffering, she is sometimes set loose in battles, just to see the end results. Recapturing and managing Morgause is an expensive, never-ending task, some believing they are keeping her alive for the fun of it...
Quote:
Morgause woke with a start, drenched in sweat. Her entire body was shaking, pain shooting through her back. It’s alright. I am in a safe place.
Well, as safe as the Morgause ever will be. It was still weird how dragons chose to live in the scarred wasteland, but after staying here for some weeks, it made sense.
Morgause twitched as she forced herself to move, the steel digging into her skin. It wasn’t supposed to hurt. It had to be recalibrated. Walking out of her chambers, it was still night. The green lantern lighting up the spire in a green hue, showing only the nocturnal dragons and guards on night duty. It was comforting, knowing they were watching out for her.
Another stab of pain forced He Morgause o recoil. Gritting herself to move on, the guardian sauntered to Cancer. He was still asleep, though experienced enough to wake at the sound of the large dragon squeezing inside. "Again?" He mumbled, rubbing his brows with one arm and searching for his glasses with the other.
"Yes… its unbearable…" Morgause replied. She thought her voice was really loud through the armet on her head, but Cancer was busy coming to life.
"Don’t move. I don’t have painkillers right now," Cancer said sternly, gently making her bend down. He inspected the iron bars dug into her skin, hundreds of them from her spine to the tip of her tail. They were supposed to prevent pain, but flawed like hers was, of course there were bound to be problems.
Cancer inspected each bar, before finally finding the wrong one. It was bending sideways, twisting the skin and tissue around. "Aha. Will just be a moment…"
Morgause hated this procedure. It would help her not feel the contraption built into her back, and the sores, scrapes and wounds that refused to heal. But the fix needed time to adjust, and-
She bellowed a scream that bellowed through the entire spire. Even as it all became numb, she was still whining. Cancer patted her on the neck, laying down to sleep again. "We can see about improving it later. Go to sleep now," he said, before ignoring her.
Morgause used a minute gathering herself, before lumbering back to her chambers. She was thankful to this clan. There were probably more gentle clans out there, more comforting individuals, cleaner lairs, better food. Except they probably didn’t have quite the resilience required to handle Morgause. She felt like a monster, and she was treated as one here. Because everyone else was treated so too. So it didn’t feel alienating at all.
The guardian curled up in the furs, letting exhaustion take her once again.
