Clan Protector Coming Soon.... The Tangled Woods are full of tricksters and thieves. Rue saw them as one and the same. Tricksters stole and became thieves, thinking themselves amusing. Rue only saw the anguish on the faces of those that had had their possessions taken away, especially those that held great value within their hearts. One day, while Rue was still young, he heard a scream. Wandering into a clearing, he saw a Guardian wailing to the high heavens, pawing at the ground and ripping up trees and stumps as an empty box sat before them. Rue could only guess that the Charge of the Guardian had once lay within and a thief had hurried it away. Rue never forgot the way the Guardian had sounded all those years ago, torn apart by grief as an insensitive trickster ran off cackling, thinking themselves worthy of admiration. Rue swore to himself that no one, no matter how much larger than he was, was going to stand between him and justice. He would draw his sword at the sight of injustice and he would raise his claws to the sky and beat down those that dared harm the innocent and the unworthy, if only to save the innocent from grief. He traveled far and wide with next to nothing, learning from observation and occasionally teachers. He learned to be quick and brutal and strong, learned how to hold a sword properly and how to strike against those larger than him or those smaller and quicker. His travels led him to the Starfall Isles, to a small clan known as the Wisplight Glen Sanctuary, prizing knowledge above all. Rue wanted a place there, a place where theft was frowned upon and sharing was encouraged. He swore to the king and queen that he would serve them faithfully and that he was no thief, that he would not take what wasn't his. They let him in and he stood among the other warriors, tall and proud.  |
