There is nothing in all of Sornieth that cannot be repurposed. Truly, everything has worth beyond its typical function, and Lehti is relentless in his quest to prove it.

A strip of snakeskin, usually used to fashion boots and belts? Equally useful in hot and cold compresses, binding wounds and guarding them from further harm.

A cluster of tulips, mere decoration for the unadventurous? With a little imagination and clever positioning, they serve to catch intruders in the act, dotting their scales with pollen that can be traced to the source.

Has Lehti uncovered anything groundbreaking yet? Well, not necessarily. Edible sludge and a new variant of Webwing really don't seem to count, at least not in his book. They're nifty, that's for sure, and they're new, which he loves! But they haven't really changed the world yet.

One day, though, he's going to invent something so grand that the gods take notice. When they do, they'll tell him at last that his heart has been in the right place, and his mind leagues ahead of everyone else. He has an inventor's soul through and through, and the whole world ought to recognize that.

At least, that's what he tells his diary, which doubles as a dumping ground for fresh ideas to pursue. And it hasn't corrected him yet even though he's written it in ink derived from a truth compulsion potion, so that's a good sign, right?
