Biography
The Thing from the Desert | She/he pronouns!
Sitting at the very top of all organised crime in the city, Minka has influence everywhere. Few citizens know of her existence, her identity a precious secret, but if you search long enough, you'll find she is the gang leader's superior, the voice behind the politician, the patron of the guild, the market manager's manager; almost all figures of importance in the city answer directly or indirectly to Minka. Her powers equal those of Metis, and whenever they're not actively trying to get in the other’s way, the two often work together to realise their plans. Their respective rumoured immortality might have helped to strengthen this bond, as the two dragons have both witnessed first-hand the city's slow growth from a small settlement to the bustling hub it is now. Although Minka's past is even more cast in shadows than Metis' past, those who know him suppose he must have grown up in the Ghumudian wastelands and observed the city's rise from a distance. Only in the past few decades did the mysterious crime leader appear in the inner circle of secret oligarchs that rule the city behind the facade of the City Council; a new face with no history or ties, taking over positions of power of soon-forgotten past leaders as if he had always been there. The intentions of the Thing from the Desert are as enigmatic as its origins. "The desert knows no mercy", the travellers whisper in the alleyways; they can only hope the one that controls so much of their lives does not take after her place of origin.
