Lore

As the clan expanded, more dragons joined who had different diets and tastes to the original few. While most of them could live on a meat or insect only diet, it wasn't great for the ecosystem of the surrounding forest; prey would grow scarce and fights between bordering clans would increase. Everglade chose to become a master at foraging, since her bright blue crystalline colours gave her away when attempting to hunt. She spent her days wandering through the forest gathering different plants, slowly learning which were edible and which were deadly poison. It took her a while to get the hang of it, since her diet consisted solely of meat, but soon she had all the clan members favourite foods memorised so she could cater to everyone’s tastes.
Later down the line the clan developed a complex farming and hunting system to keep the increasing number of dragons fed, and Everglade’s food foraging services were no longer required. This didn’t deter her though and she still goes out on her daily foraging walks, except she collects and cultivates herbs and spices instead of food now, keeping a special eye out for the rarer plants to bring back as courting gifts for Ramdel. Unfortunately, he’s a bit socially inept due to his constant shunning in hatchling days, so he hasn’t caught on yet, much to the frustration of Everglade.
