Once a devote follower of an underground cult that worshipped the primordial goddess of darkness, Vekyrth, he was taken in as a young spiral to become one of the ascended types. They were to be the acting priests and priestesses who could commune with the goddess. This was the highest honour that any could receive. Though as the numbers of cult members start to dwindle due to purging and hunting, Void eventually escaped narrowly with his life and went into hiding for a period of time. Given the powers and ascension possessed by priests and priestesses, Void has innate magical ability that includes the ability to warp shadows and the darkness, cloaking himself in shadows, and concealing his presences just to name a few abilities he gained from the goddess's influence.
Only months after and coming out of hiding, he had met Baphomet who was travelling through the Wispwallow Grove. Though initially hostile towards one another, they fought tooth and claw for victory with Baphomet conceding to the priest's dark arts. They explained that they were part of a clan in the Scarred Wastelands that could use a warrior like him. It would seem that he was quite hesitant at first to join yet another group. He couldn't be sure that they would find out who he was and attempt to harm him like they did his fellow members. Baphomet stayed in the Tangled Woods for only days longer and when they were about to leave, he showed up and asked them to take him back to their clan. Eventually, after realizing that he would find sanctuary and peace within the Maledictum, he stayed around and joined the ranks of warriors. His relationship to the gaoler only strengthened. He learned to speak the modern language better though still struggled to grasp it completely through their help. The ancient tongue of his goddess had a very different structure and verbiage than the modern tongue so he is still learning to speak but has seen much improvement since the beginning. |
